From the interview with Ece Sukan

What do you think is the most important rule of having style? And what is your favorite piece to wear?

Having style means being able to connect with your inner voice, thus remaining original, having integrity and consistency. In other words, everything from your clothing to your home, from your stance in life to your music choice reflects your style. It creates a style of integrity, being yourself, and authenticity. Since I have an improvised and free style, I can hang out on different pieces from time to time. This situation develops very organically. But of course, vintage pieces are the ones I enjoy the most.

You've been running a lot of work for years. What is the basis of your ability to do everything at the same time?

I think it’s based on character. As I said, I have been active since childhood, wanting to be successful in everything I do. I try to do my best. I performed ballet at Ankara State Opera Ballet, played in the theater, dubbed on TRT, and played the piano. I was able to keep up with everything. All these areas that I was interested in always fed each other and gave birth to new ways. And it is the same today.

What is your affinity with the word marriage?

I’m pretty close, actually; because I got married and divorced. I don’t have any negative or positive judgments about marriage… It may or may not happen again. The dynamics of every relationship are different, so when integrity, harmony and unity are achieved, why not? Each soul’s journey is unique and different in life.

When you think about it right now, are there any plans for the future that make your heart flutter?

Yes, I made a comeback to acting last year. Now, if there is a good movie or TV series project, I would like to be a part of it. I also have a few program ideas in mind for television. But let’s see what streaming will bring us…

Can we say that you are a serious collector?

Yes, you can. But since I started collaborating with Vogue Eyewear, I’ve stopped. Because I always wear Vogue Eyewear’s models. I was collecting vintage glasses because I was a vintage enthusiast. I used to collect it from pharmacies in Osmanbey and from abroad. I have such enthusiasm for everything. I have a tendency to collect.

What do you pay attention to when choosing glasses?

To the face form; Bony or round? People already understand what suits them when trying on glasses. My face has an advantage; It can handle many models of glasses. I also use frames with large glazing. Choosing glasses is an instinctive thing. I’m finding the best piece by experimenting.

Is there a piece that you keep with you when you travel?

I definitely put on a leather jacket. I can wear this jacket day or night. I have glasses. Since my jewelry changes over time, I take whatever jewelry I have at my disposal at that time.

Who are your favorite names to meet at fashion week?

Veronika Heilbrunner, Sarah Harris, Ada Kokosar
