Biography: Onur Buldu was born on August 4, 1982 in Bergama, Izmir. He is originally from Mazgirt, Tunceli. His mother was a midwife nurse mother and his father was a teacher. Father, and grew up in Menemen. He studied at Dokuz Eylul University, Theater Department. After graduation, he worked at the Izmir State Theater for a while and acted in the theatre play Kesanli Ali Epic. In 2007, he moved to Istanbul and started to take part in many TV series, and film productions. He started his television career with the movie Magic Carpet Ride (Organize Isler). For about 9 years, he starred in the entertainment television show Guldur Guldur, with the character of Bilal Kocyigit. In 2020, he got married to Duygu Kozoglu, an English teacher, and had a daughter named Masal in 2022.

From the interview with Onur Buldu
Can you tell me about your favorite actors and directors?
I love Bulent Emin Yarar. Esra Bezen Bilgin is also a very impressive actress. I’m a fan of Daniel Day Lewis. He excites me every time he makes a movie. He’s an incredible actor. Christoph Waltz is also very fascinating to me.
Which team do you support?
Besiktas. I have a season-ticket holder. I go to every game here. Sarp Apak, Bulent Parlak, Sinasi Yurtsever, Ozgur Ozan… We go as a team of 10 people.
Funny guys are popular. Women are always around them. Do you feel lucky in that respect?
Of course, there is such a plus. At least I can meet more women than I used to.
Some comedians say they're not that funny in real life, even saying: We're introverted and boring people.
I guess I am not like that. Of course, it happens from time to time, but I’m normally cheerful.
What is the turning point of your life in terms of career?
Guldur Guldur. It gave me lots of opportunities there. I’m happy to be in this business.
Would you consider doing stand-up?
I didn’t think about it at all. It’s something that scares me. I don’t like to be on stage as myself. I can play a single-player play because you’re hiding behind a text. But I don’t think I’ll be able to get in front of 500 people as Onur and do stand-up.
Your first love?
My first crush was in elementary school. There was a girl in the village.
Has there ever been a great love in your life?
It happened in college. I was in a relationship for four years. I came to Istanbul and she was still studying in Izmir. We could not meet on time or place. For example, she would get up early in the morning and go to sleep at 9 p.m. I’m the opposite. I like living at night more. I don’t sleep until 4 am.
