From the interview with Erdem Sanli

Did your experience working behind the camera contribute to your acting?

I worked as a camera assistant for 2 years. I worked with very good directors and worked with actor friends who would guide me. That experience helped me a lot to learn the camera, actor psychology, set etiquette, and communication.

You play a character, Iso, in the Turkish series This Sea Will Overflow (Tasacak Bu Deniz). What aspects of you are similar to the Iso character?

Actually, I can say that there are a lot of resemblances. A little crazy, a little logical, a little impulsive.

We know that you are good at football. Is Goztepe sports a tribune excitement for you, or is it a part of your identity from your childhood?

Both. Goztepe sports is my favorite hobby in life. I’m glad I’m from Goztepe. I love our team very much. That’s why I can say that it is both a sense of belonging and a great excitement. We also live in Trabzon and I am a Trabzonspor fan and a Bursaspor fan at the same time.

Would you like to say something to those who love the shows you starred in and the characters you played?

I can say that it is the fruit of doing a good and quality job. Because we really work hard with our directors, screenwriters, and actors. We are also happy that this is appreciated. We love you very much too. We read and see your comments. So you are watching us and we are watching you.

Do you take the social media comments seriously?

Certainly yes, if it is during my emotional times. Good messages and best wishes also motivate me.

Did you have any difficult scenes on the set?

It becomes especially difficult when it is cold and when I am hungry.

Do your tattoos have a special meaning for you?

Not actually. I don’t like to put so much emphasis on these things. A little bit Greek, a little bit Egyptian. I made these tattoos that I liked.
