Biography: Gokberk Yildirim was born in Ankara on July 17, 1991. He was born and raised in Ankara and lived there for almost 30 years before moving to Istanbul. He was interested in acting throughout his childhood. After graduating from high school, he focused on acting more and took a leave of absence from college. In this process, his father was supportive of his acting career. He is the first one in his family who is in the acting career; his father is involved in trade while his uncles are in the construction sector. Gokberk Yildirim made his debut with his role in the Turkish series Starfish (Deniz Yildizi).

From the interview with Gokberk Yildirim

The number of your fans has been increasing. What do you think about it?

It is great. It is great to be loved, to be missed, to be wondered, to be asked how I am doing, where I am, and to be taken care of like my parents, and to act together. It is important to control it and to give them love in exchange for this love.

Do you think that you don’t sufficiently reach out to your fans?

Social media isn’t something that I wanted in my life since my childhood. I am not very into Internet. The people who know me closely know very well that I am not interested in fame and popularity. I live my life quietly by myself.

Do you have any projects on digital platforms?

Right now, we are working on something. I hope that it will be the most appropriate and the most beatiful way. I want to appear in these projects in the best way possible. I want a project which I want, I can explain myself in a better way, I can show my qualifications in the best way. Thus, I will wait with patience.

How do you choose your projects? Do you consider whether it reflects you or do you choose just as a project itself?

The character that I will act should be in line with the character in my mind. I have ideals, I will try to do it accordingly. I don’t want to make mistakes.

If you need to make a decision between love and fame, which one do you choose?

I don’t think that fame is useful for human nature. That’s why, I choose love.

Is there anything that we have a wrong idea about you?

I usually try to be sincere. If I appear on a platform, a place, or media, I will never change myself. I can’t tell something as if it happened. I share whatever my thoughts are. If I want to laugh, I laugh. If I become emotional, I show my emotions.

Is there anything about your life that you were glad to have done it or not done?

I am glad I came to Istanbul. I was born and raised in Ankara and I lived there for more than 30 years. I have been living in Istanbul for 2 years.

Do you have any character that you don’t like and you wish to change?

Sometimes, my silence is confused with sulk or offense. Maybe I can speak more in intense times. But, I usually show huge reactions, and I want to keep it inside me through staying silent. I kill my anger or this tension inside me instead.

What do you do when you aren’t understood by others?

I still wait to be understood. Yes, I am patient. I am very patient. I wait and I always wait.

Do you have a role model?

For acting, I admire Sener Sener and Cetin Tekindor. Hlauk Bilginer is also one of the biggest names in the sector.

What attracts you to the opposite gender? What hits Gokberk’s heart?

Meaningful look and meaningful smile. If you say that I can look at her face for the rest of my life and her eyes can warm my heart, then it is the thing. But of course, at the core of the relationship, there should be respect.

How do you define yourself in three words?

First, loyalty. It is very important for me. Second, I am a very hardworking person in my job. In general, I am very responsible. Third, I am patient.
